Kevin Buckley Age: 42 Occupation: Construction Supervisor Education & Qualifications: As a lifelong coastside resident I feel a strong bond with the community and recognize a need for Fire Department services that compliment our community. The Fire Department plays a vital role in our community and would work hard to ensure that role is fully supported and that our tax dollars are spent wisely in obtaining that goal. I would bring fresh thinking to the Fire Board committed to account-ability and fiscal responsibility for each tax dollar spent. As coastsiders know we are vulnerable to isolation from emergency medical care from a natural disaster that could close our access roads or just from weekend traffic that would prevent outside help from making a timely response. For this reason I feel that the Fire Department should take the lead in developing a published emergency plan that would include safe areas to provide medical care and other traumatic service for our citizens should the need arise. I am particularly concerned about our Senior Citizens in the event of such a crisis. The emergency plan should include a provision to upgrade our Firefighters medical skill level to Paramedic so they will be better equipped to provide needed assistance in a crisis. /s/ Kevin Buckley
