Education & Qualifications:

I recently graduated from Georgetown University with honors and a political
science degree. I believe my youth and my having lived on the Mid-Peninsula my
entire life enables me to bring a fresh perspective, enlightened with knowledge
and love for our community.

My passion has always been community service, as my degree and my family's
consumer and community-interest background would indicate. I grew up with my
grandfather's consumer-oriented "Greengrocer" television show, which combined
service and truth.

The West Bay Sanitary District is a service needing a fresh approach. A
citizen's request for information from WBSD is answered with an outdated,
glossy brochure dated 1986. Further, while many neighboring Districts have
websites, West Bay Sanitary District's doesn't exist.

Communicating common interest problems, while educating and providing
leadership on sanitation and environmental issues, are WBSD jobs. Eleven-year
old brochures do neither. Furthermore, the importance of Board decisions cannot
be underestimated. While the present Board is strong in engineering, that is
not the only dimension needed. Decisions that are based on sound engineering
are important. But, decisions that are based on the community's welfare are
vital.

An approach emphasizing modernization, service, and a high regard for
environmental and economic issues is what I promise this community.

Recientemente me gradþe de Georgetown University con honores y recibâ mi
licenciatura en ciencias politicas.  Estimo que mi juventud y el haber vivido
en la peninsula toda mi vida me ayuda a traer una perspectiva sana, informada
con conocimientos y amor para nuestra comunidad.

Mi pasion siempre ha sido el servicio a la comunidad, como indican mi
licenciatura y los antecedentes de mi familia interesada siempre en el
consumidor y en la comunidad. Crecâ con la orientaci÷n hacia el beneficio del
consumidor por medio de mi abuelo el "Greengrocer" con su programa de
television, combinado con servicio y verdad.

El "West Bay Sanitary District" es un servicio que necesita un nuevo enfoque. 
La petici÷n de un ciudadano en busca de informaci÷n del WBSD es contestada con
folletos anticuados del 1986.  Ademas, mientras muchos otros Distritos tienen
informaci÷n en la Internet, en el West Bay Sanitary District eso no existe.

El comunicar problemas de intereses comunes mientras se educa y se provee
direcci÷n en asuntos de sanidad y el medio ambiente, es el trabajo de WBSD. 
Folletos que datan de once aöos no lo proveen.  Ademas, no se puede minimizar
la importancia de las decisiones de la Junta de Gobierno, Mientras que la
actual Junta, es fuerte en cuanto a ingenierâa, esa no es la þnica dimension
que se necesita. Decisiones basadas en buena ingenierâa es importante.  Pero
decisiones basadas en el bienestar de la comunidad es vital.

Un enfoque enfatizando modernizaci÷n, servicio y un alto respeto por el medio
ambiente y asuntos econ÷micos es lo que yo prometo a esta comunidad.
