As a partner and director of auditing for Redwood City's oldest accounting firm, CG Uhlenberg & Co., Jeff Ira has built a career on supervising audits of municipalities such as Sunnyvale, Menlo Park, and even our own Redwood City. Jeff's experiences provides him with the ability to make the kinds of decisions that will result in a more sensible approach to our City's budget.
In September of this year, Jeff Ira suggested to City Manager, Ed Everett, that the City employ a commonly used financing practice that will result in saving Redwood City hundreds of thousands of dollars. As our Councilman, Jeff Ira will apply his auditing skills to the entire 80 million dollar Redwood City Budget. Just think of how much money the City will save by having Jeff watch our tax dollars.
Jeff plans to use these savings to hire more police, improve our fire fighting services, make necessary road repairs, clan up our parks, improve youth programs, or simply reduce taxes.
Currently, there are no CPA's on the City Counsel. As Councilman, Jeff Ira will share his skills with other Council Members so that our City stays on solid financial ground as we approach the next century.
