Statement of JULIUS CHIANG, Candidate for Governing Board Member Occupation: Banker Age: 44 Education and Qualifications: Graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1976 with a BA in Psychology. Have been in banking for 19 years. As a Vice President and Branch Manager, I currently manage two offices in the Peninsula. Have a wonderful, working, supportive spouse and a son and daughter, ages 5 and 1. A firm supporter of education I, for 18 years, involved myself with Junior Achievement of the Bay Area. A middle school consultant, I taught business concepts to 8th Graders in both public and private schools throughout the Bay Area. Eventually became a Board Member and for 4 years I was involved in their delivery of Kindergarten through 12th grade J.A. programs. The Cupertino School District has a reputation for providing an excellent elementary school education. My only desire for becoming a board member is to take an active, participatory role in ensuring that the distinguished quality of education in Cupertino continues for my children and their peers. I offer my management and people skills, my training in financial responsibilities, and my commitment to the children of the Cupertino Elementary School District.
