Helen Hausman      

Education & Qualifications:

I am the current President of the San Mateo County Community College District
Board of Trustees. Within our fiscal restraints I have worked diligently to
preserve programming. Aimed at successfully serving the community into the 21st
century, I have participated in the establishment of "Vision 2000".

With the 1997 completion of our Education/Facilities Master Plan, my goal is
for students to adapt to the need for continued learning in an age of rapid
employment changes and racing technology.

My experience includes National and State Community College Trustee Development
Committees.

Prior to my College Board election, I served thirteen years on the Sequoia
Union High School District Board, four terms as President. Interacting with
eight feeder districts and municipalities provided me with insight into our
diverse population and educational needs.

I am President of the San Mateo County School Boards Association; Secretary,
American Red Cross Bay Area Board; Education Chair, American Association of
University Women; Seventeenth District PTA Board (112 schools); and Trustee,
League of Women Voters Education Fund.

Honors: San Mateo County Women's Hall of Fame, Who's Who of American Women, Pi
Lambda Theta National Education Honor Society.

We have a new College District Chancellor. My proven leadership will provide
stability, continuity and a smooth transition.
