It is with pleasure I ask for your continued support in upgrading our school district to even higher levels of academic achievement, parent involvement and student discipline. At present, four of our schools have won the California Distinguished School Award; teacher and classified employee moral has improved to a remarkable degree; gang activity is coming under control (we have a zero tolerance policy that works); in addition to having improved academics we have maintained our gifted and talented program, all music and art classes; our teacher and classified employee salaries are in the top twentieth percentile; with a bare bones budget. Where many other California districts are bankrupt, our district has accumulated thirteen million dollars in reserve. Part of this reserve will be used for an accomplishment that I am very proud of, it is a soon-to-be built 600 student school, and a new gymnasium, at no taxpayer expense!
The board will be meeting next month to evaluate and change the district goals for the next four years. The highest priority goals for me are: To increase student academic performance, resulting in test scores in the eightieth percentile or higher. An increased focus on vocational education to prepare our students for a bright future.
