Our overall goal, which the Council and City staff set jointly is to make Belmont, by the year 2000, the most desirable place in the San Francisco Bay Area in which to live, work and do business.

It is important that Council members have a vision that reflects the needs of the City and the values of the residents and businesses that make our City what it is. That vision must also be supportive of the overall goal. Council then needs to work as a team enabling the City staff to bring this vision into reality.

My vision for Belmont includes:

  • Financially healthy city
  • Well maintained infrastructure
  • Pedestrian friendly downtown that works
  • Civic facilities adequate to the needs of the City
  • Additional recreation and open space opportunities
  • Strong and vital neighborhoods
  • Community beautification as a long term priority
