I have made some claims about how I think the Board has wasted your tax dollars. First of all, the former Fire Chief, David Eufusia had a valid contract with the District. The contract, by the way, was approved without question by my opponent Bill Guissi. When the Board changed its mind about the contract, it also failed to maintain a cooperative dialog with the former Chief. The result was the resignation of two firefighters, attributable to low moral,distrust of the Board and the eventual dismissal of the Chief.
The total figure will increase by at least $2000 per year for every year past ten years the former chief lives. Just to clairify the overtime, the district paid $150,424.00 minus budgeted $28,000 for excess overtime of $122,424. The loss could have been avoided with better personnel administration.
A slightly cynical mentor once told me,"burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice, shame on me". If past performance is any indicator of future expectations, how can we afford to keep this Board?.
