Don Heinz Age: 60 Occupation: Independent Auto Mechanic Education & Qualifications: I am a 26 year Coastside resident and sole proprietor of a small business. I have a long and well-deserved reputation for honest dealings, plain talk and being a government watchdog. My watchdog role helped educate voters about plans for overdeveloping Half Moon Bay, and contributed to recent City Council reforms. My community knowledge and commitment were recognized by being appointed to the City's Planning Commission. I now seek your support to serve on our local water authority. In California, water is life, and must be managed with great sensitivity. With limited carrying capacity of Coastside land, more water may not always be better. When there's too much water, or when it's used for the wrong things, it becomes too expensive and growth-inducing. We should pay at least as much attention to the quality, reliability and efficiency of water service, as we do to its quantity. We should have full disclosure of water-related decisions and future directions, since these can have major impacts on the Coastside economy and quality of life. I will not allow the tail of water to wag the dog of development. I will pursue service improvement and an open process for current residents. Thanks for voting. /s/ Don Heinz
